@lakridserne@gambler My $20 worth of bitcoin is now worth $10.92. So you can send me your bitcoins, and I will send you something worth slightly more than half of what you send me.
@gambler@lakridserne I don't know what that is and I don't think it was a thing when I bought (almost a year ago), but it looks like it's just a bank that accepts bitcoin, converts it to USD when you want to save, and then converts it back when you want to spend, while charging you for it. In which case, I would have $19.82 and no chance of coming out ahead, which would be better than my current $10.92, but worse than my $20 if I had just stuck with good ol' USD. Clearly I'm not the bitcoin's target demo though.
@Moose true there are people who can't get bank accounts, debit cards or shop online. I was banned for a bit by chex systems for a bounced check and it sucked. With Bitcoin, I'm my own bank. Merchants also can't charge me whenever they want or lose my credit card daily.
Not a Bitcoin user, but I can understand the appeal. I'd definitely strive to remain anonymous if I was buying 5 speaker docks. I don't want a paper trail for that shame.
Same here

@Moose why didn't you use bitreserve?
@Moose Like any other currency, bitcoin fluctuate, just more than other, stable currencies

I agree. Would love to see bitcoin as an option for payment.
