Haystack Parking App -- Good or Bad?
1Haystack is a mobile app that lets drivers trade public parking spaces for cash.
It's a pretty cool idea, but city officials argue that it inflates the cost of parking. Living in a dense city has it's hidden costs, but Boston does not charge for street parking.
I've been in that situation a few times where it took me 40 minutes driving around my neighborhood looking for a parking spot. I would have gladly paid 3 bucks to just to find a parking spot.
What do you guys think?
There's an interesting trend in mobile apps that provide services to circumvent city rules. I wonder if you guys at Mediocre have such an idea up your sleeve?

I think the city/state should tax the purchase and embrace the revenue
Luckily the parking isn't usually too terrible in Dallas, surprisingly. I think that if I had to drive around for any longer than 10 minutes I would be more than willing to shell out a few bucks, but then again the places that have hard to find parking usually have valet for a similar cost.
I guess the problem I can see is people parking in places when they have access to a private lot or space just to try to get money from this app, but I don't know if anyone would bother.

Previously, if I’ve reported things in this way, the offending comment is removed, along with mine, so that the time stamp reverts back to the original. Not a big deal, but just pointing it out.

@Shrdlu Probably just because I usually take some creative liberties in removing spam comments.
@Shrdlu @woodhouse for necro-spam, I tend towards delete and let it go away. For new spam, it depends on my mood whether they get a {TC edit} or deletion.
