24 network shows cancelled this season
2I'm pretty bummed about all the cancellations this season. I've never been accused of having good taste in fiction, but a lot of these shows made me happy. I am glad that for once I didn't pick up too many new ones last year, because I think I would have liked some of the ones I didn't watch that didn't make it. I've just had me lil' ol' heart broke too many times in the past, oh, 20 years.
Almost Human is the hardest hit for me. I love love love Karl Urban, and the sci-fi in that show felt very close to home. I'll also miss Suburgatory -- I don't watch many sitcoms but that one captured my heart. I was also watching Revolution, Intelligence (which got really good near the end), Dracula, and Community. Though at least Dracula reached a decent spot to end.
I wonder if we'll ever get that Community movie?
Will Annie and Jeff ever get together and live happily ever after?
It's one of my fantasies to one day run a television network where cancelled shows can live on long enough to complete their story arcs -- well, as long as the fan base doesn't mind lower production quality -- it would likely be a network on a relatively small budget.

Also, the Supernatural spin-off "Tribes" was cancelled after fans unleashed their vitriol on it's backdoor pilot. I imagine tribes of fangirls screaming "No one can have Sam & Dean's universe but me!".
Although, it was a little to CW for my taste.
Accusing something of being "too CW" is lowest of the low.
Oh BTW here's a list of all cancelled/ended shows this season: http://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/ending-or-cancelled-tv-shows-for-the-2013-14-season-30312/
I wanted to like Dracula but could not get into it. I think I still have six episodes saved on my DVR. I was surprised by some of the renewals, in particular Two and a Half Men. I did not know anyone was still watching that.
I was surprised by the Mentalist. I tried to watch it but it's rarely on as scheduled. How does it have ratings?
I always wonder "who the hell's watching this?" when I see the top rated shows. I blame the hilariously outdated nielson rating system.
Yeah, and final Parks & Recreation season, too. I don't mind, though, 7 seasons is plenty, but it does make me wonder what takes it's place that's worth watching.
I'm enjoying Brooklyn Nine-nine so far, though. Glad that got picked up for another round.
oh, brooklyn nine-nine is one i want to start watching. the commercials are hilarious.
And Best Week Ever canceled seems really odd. I mean...I haven't watched it in forever, but I got the feeling they were just using it to fill space between other stuff anyway so it'd just be on always.
Uuugh, don't remind me that Almost Human got canceled. Though since it was great, really thoughtful sci-fi with a fairly diverse cast, it was pretty much destined for cancellation. Was just really hoping it'd get renewed.
Maybe Syfy will pick it up? Please?
Apparently it got decent ratings but cost too much. If that's the case it's unlikely to get picked up by Syfy.
God, I came here to make a very similar comment. Such a good show. But no, that's gotta go so they can have more contest reality shows...
I'm still rocking out on a Frasier marathon...which should tell you what I think about network shows today.
PS Almost Human was decent, but predictable. Not surprised that it got canned, they need more hit shows.
I've never had a problem with shows other people think are predictable. I don't generally think ahead when I'm being entertained.
