A mediocre GISHWHES team?

I've decided to participate in GISHWHES this year, even though it makes me really nervous. It's a super weird scavenger hunt in which you create photos and videos, often involving clothing made of food and random acts of kindness. Winning is not the point, but putting yourself out there is. Registration is $18.89.

@harrison has agreed to be on my team, BreakfastOctopi. If I don't fill my team up with 15 members, RANDOM STRANGERS will be assigned to it! So, if any of you are interested let me know here, and then I'll figure out how to invite you to the team without you having to plaster your email in a public forum.

Ask us for money you don't need, to build a website no one needs, we're all over it. Ask us to "put ourselves out there" and we run the hell away.

I'll check it out. I'm not promising to do it. But I will look into it and see if it's something I can commit to.

I don't have high expectations for my teammates. If you can do one or two items on the list I'll be happy. In the past there have been some where you just sit at home and try to make sculptures out of legumes, or portraits out of skittles.

There have also been less weird items, like a video interview with a couple that's been married for over 60 years.

And weird, but not too weird, like a photo of a commodore 64 next to a camera from the 1800s. I almost had that one, but I was too lazy the first time around and didn't want to drive all over the place to get everything.

@katylava I would have loved to do this if I was in town this week!!!! but I'm glad you got enough mediocre people together for a team. I look forward to hearing some mildly interesting stories from it :)
