Am I the only one excited about this??
2Starbucks Just Put Harry Potter’s Butterbeer on Their Secret Menu
I didn't even realize they had a secret menu (I thought that was just an In-N-Out thing...). I haven't tried it yet but can't wait to squeeze it into my Thanksgiving agenda!
Anyone else have any fast food/restaurant hacks that I need to know about?

Starbucks always has had a secret menu.. they're crafty.
Jamba juice (smoothy place) has secret items as well. Next time you go to one, ask for a pink star ( it taste! like a pink starburst!)

I went to In-N-Out for the first time last week. The secret menu thing is funny, because you can also just ask for stuff by its normal name. Like: "Uh, do you guys do cheese fries?"
My recent new fast food thing is the potato soft taco at Taco Bell.
Likewise, is this Starbucks thing a "secret menu" or a "ask for them to make a drink using the ingredients and instructions you specify"?
It's this. It's also been around for a while.
Being allergic to coffee, I am not a Starbucksaholic. I went in with a friend this past weekend to take advantage of the BOGO special for holiday drinks, expecting they'd have a hot chocolate option and was surprised to find only coffee drinks on the holiday menu. I chose the hot eggnog drink sans coffee, took it home and put an Earl Grey tea bag in it and it made a very nice and unique drink.
You can always ask for cream based drinks at Starbucks, anything there can be made without coffee, the frappuccinos are awesome!
A former barista friend suggested printing out the recipe and bringing it in to make sure you get what you want-- otherwise different stores may make it in different ways or they may not be aware of the secret menu. So I would take that to mean that you can basically just request any sort of drink within reason. That makes it a little less cool.
Yeah, this whole "secret menu" thing seems pretty silly when it's just "you can ask them to make you stuff." By that measure, every bar in the world has a "secret menu" when you order a mixed drink.
@moondrake Ever had a London Fog? Essentially it's a latte made with tea instead of coffee.

This isn't called that, but looks pretty similar:

Nope. I don't care for rooibos, but it look like it would be yummy with a black or white tea.
Fire sauce at taco bell may have been (or still is?) off the menu. Answering "Would you like mild, medium or hot" with "I'll take Fire" pleases me.
They hide the fire sauce at your local Taco Bell? Mine keeps it right out in the open. Maybe you're in a bad neighborhood.
Torchy's Tacos has a secret menu. It's laminated, so I'm not sure how secret it is.
oh yay? I live less then five minutes from one. Where may I ask is this secret menu>
That would have been great to know on our last mediocre outing
Here's a domain search for all the secret menu sites:

There weren't as many as I expected (and a quarter of them are In-N-Out variants).
I will take one of everything from the secret menu please.. I need to try all of them ;)
