Potato Salad, by Zack Danger Brown
But seriously, the 100 or so words on the page are well worth the read.
I am now oddly hungry for some really good potato salad. My favorite is 3 potato potato salad. Will someone quick send me some ? I don't make it.
My mom makes the best potato salad. I try to equal hers, but it always comes up a bit short.
I'll start a Kickstarter to make some and send it to you.
@JonT : If you do that, please cut me some of the action.
This is the best kickstarter ever.
That's one kind of recipe that I've never delved into. Any favorites?
Aaaand he's totally raised over $8K.
So this is not more
meh
than meh. Meh's kickstarter didn't give you anything. "Give us money, and we'll maybe do something with it. You get nothing. F*ck you." ... that's damnmeh
. This one is generous. You get to be invited to a massive event and get pictures taken. Not bad for $10.Well, I guess it's becoming less meh. Initially it was "I'm raising $10 so that I can make potato salad. You don't get anything."
Well actually for $10 you got a Fukubukuro bag, which is still only slightly better than nothing but
Now if only we could find a way to get a bite of that potato salad into a Fukubukuro bag or two...then we'd have something. But that seems hard. So no.
Disclaimer: shameless fundraising plea to follow....
This guy has raised over $9500 to make potato salad?? WTH? I'm just trying to raise a measly $500 for St. Jude's Children Research Hospital. Feel free to visit my participant page and donate. :-) http://fundraising.stjude.org/site/TR/Warrior/Warrior?px=2487570&pg=personal&fr_id=10773
The moral of the story is: don't raise money for a cause, cause money for a raise
aaaand they're at $44K...
Annnndddd I'm stuck at $150. Seriously frustrating that something so frivolous and superficial as potato salad gets more financial support. :-(
Yeah, but he wasn't desperate. People like to give money to things that they feel there is no obligation. Now give me $5 bucks for Slim Jims or whatever.
Hmmm…so I sound too desperate. (Funny, not the first guy who has told me that.) Okay, so how about I want money because I feel like baking cookies. Since payday isn't for a little while, I've got to get some suckers ahem, I mean backers to pay for the ingredients. (I've been told that I make excellent oatmeal raisin & chocolate chip cookies.) Yeah, that's it! Gimme money using that link I posted above and I'll send you a batch of cookies, eventually.
I'm in for the cookies. Oh and the good cause too : )
Yippeee!!!
@bluedog - Will you say my name out loud while you're baking the cookies?
But of course! I'll even do a little happy cookie dance while doing so.
