Groupon to Give Away $100 Million on Black Friday
1I thought a few of you might be interested in this.
If you are lucky you can get up to $500, really lucky up to $5000 or ridiculously lucky you could be the one person to be awarded $25,000 in Groupon Bucks.
They have been doing quite a few of these types of promotions lately. This will be the biggest yet, but I wonder if they have anything planned for Christmas as well. But I will definitely be signing in on Friday with the vain hope of seeing $25,000 in my account.... but I've never been one of those people that actually wins that. I'd be happy with a measly $500 :)

I don't know if there is $500 worth of stuff on Groupon that I would be interested in purchasing. But I bet I could find something if it involved free credits. Here's to hoping that some of us lab rats score some free cash!
Seriously. When it's free, a lot of things suddenly seem a lot more interesting :)
Not only can I hardly believe that Groupon is still in business, I'm even more incredulous that they're capable of giving away $100, much less a $100M.
Did anyone here receive Groupon bucks today? None for me.
I received $5 in Groupon bucks. You jelly?
@middlemanager, a whole $5?! Is that amount motivating enough to get you to purchase something today?
Whoa $5! You could maybe actually buy something with that. I won big with $1
ha! wow.
I'm guessing the scenario is that they have 30 million accounts active in last 2 years and they are assigning 29,990,000 of them $1-$5 credit and 10k of them get a remaining $50k. With the $5 expiring same day and hard to really define as a hard cost (given profit on any order placed) I bet their cost for the promo is quite ambiguous, possibly even negligible.
That said, it might play out great for them and is certainly a fun way to spark activity.
