We added categories, but are trying to keep it pretty basic with these four for now. So, this one is meta, for instance. Mostly, you can use it to check on some things or ignore some things.
I like it. I especially appreciate that I'm not forced to use seperate tabs and I can select which ones I don't want to appear. It's a good balance between allowing categories without ruining the way the site functions.
I like it, simple, useful, and subtle. I also like if you unselect everything, they all reset to selected - so you can't give yourself a blank page. That's some nice anticipatory planning right there - you may have saved yourselves a ton of, "Why is the forum blank?" threads.

@petek - if you are savvy enough to force the null, you're not likely to be confused by it.

...or copy a link into a post and misspell the URL, like https://mediocre.com/forum/topics?category=etcc
