Kickstarter Update #3
5Just got this email. It's happening, and I don't know what it is, but I'm excited anyway!!!
Project Update #3: Hooray, we failed!
Posted by Matt Rutledge ♥ Like
We totally failed to have a meh Kickstarter, and it’s all your fault. We raised $14,777, while 73% of successful Kickstarters raised less than $10,000. That’s not meh at all. We’ll have to try harder to disappoint in the future.
Sincerely, though, it’s amazing that 1413 of you helped us meet & surpassed our goal. Thank you for backing our idea. It really means a lot to all of us here. (Yes, that’s a rare instance of actual emotion leaking out.)
So what now? Well, now we have to finish this stupid site, find some crap to sell you, and launch. We’re thinking this will happen very soon. We’ll send out a survey to get your email addresses, and then on the big day, we’ll email you your Day Zero access pass so you can get in.
Until then we’ll be in our Mediocre forum, where you can ask questions about what the hell it is you just backed. And no, you can’t have your money back.
See you soon!

I'm just sorry I missed the fuku bags. I overlooked the email-- I think it was just too much Meh-speak for my brain to process. I only got wind something was happening over the weekend and then we were down to the $1 backer level. Seems to be my fate, LOL.
Your apology is accepted on the tentative basis that cookies be tendered for recompense.
@moondrake, We kept trying to get the word out at AtC, but "they" were too fast on the delete button. Sorry you didn't see our posts.
S'okay, I did get an email. I'm just not trendy enough to follow what the heck it was trying to say.
AtC deleted questions about meh? That makes me sad, but less sorry I've drifted away.
What's AtC?
"Ask the Community" over there at Deals. They've been pretty draconian about deleting disagreeable emails.
I am still an avid shopper on Woot. Don't hate me because I love deals.
Nothing wrong with enjoying a good deal. I don't hate Woot by any stretch. I just don't like as much as I used to
I like it, but I don't like like it.
Yeah I by no means hate Woot, far from it. I just think they've strayed so far from what made them successful that I find little use for it
It's just too much work now to look at all the available products, deadlines, etc., and once you do, it's often not worth it.
I've bought a couple things from there already this year.
It seems like Woot lately is for people without jobs but have lots of money. They have a lot of the BOC offerings on Facebook. Like people can sit on FB all day at work.
You mean like people who watch woot-offs at work?
It was kind of a dumb thing for me to say, it's just that for me personally, I felt less guilty occasionally checking the Woot-off than occasionally checking Facebook while at work.
FB is blocked at some people's workplaces. Even if it isn't, if your boss looks at your browser history FB is more problematic than Woot.
you can always say you were looking for cheap supplies for the company
@katylava: Our minds think deviously alike.
@katylava: My workplace has a separate Woot account for purchases, not that the shirts are company uniform.
