Why not reward your VMP members by sending an early email notification when there's going to be a cool deal or a Fukobukuro? I'm in Eastern time so I NEVER get the good deals or Fukobukuro bags.
But it could also increase the amount of VMP members because of this perk, so mediocre really has nothing to lose. I infrequently use my VMP membership because usually the good deals are gone, and the fun of randomly getting free meh branded gifts hasn't happened in a while.
@verydark if there were more VMP members because of this perk then they would all have the heads up and it wouldn’t really help much at that point. Plus once the email went out everyone would just talk about it on the forums and all the non-VMP members would know too.
@1nonlygoldfish yep, mediocres version sold over at meh.com. Search the forum overthere for the fukubukuro and fukobukuro reveal threads to see what kind of stuff people get.
@actionjbone That’s more diabolical than mediocre. Mediocre alerts should all be real, but only be useful about half the time. The other half: they would be real, but not get to users until after midnight Eastern.
If this was a thing I would sign up for VMP just to post it publicly. I’d ask for tips in bitcoin just to cover the cost of VMP and I’d come out ahead since most people on the site aren’t …
edit: redacted some of that. You caught me mid making an effort (admittedly half-assed) to not be a dick in general. Point is I’d probably make a profit doing that, so yeah. Go for it.
@AZnatural1 The Martian watch I bought off Meh.com for my wife burned her wrist. She said this thing is getting really hot and took it off and had a burn mark on her. So yeah stay the hell away from Martians
Not vmp but they have a vmp hour and if they aren’t emailing vmp members a reminder about that hour when there is usually at least one fuko/irk bag offer then they should. Otherwise why have a vmp only hour? Usually what 4-5 or 5-6? Also i’m eastern time and i had no issue getting one at 12:15 am. More being vigilant on the site and hoping your internet is fast enough to reload the page when timer hits 0 and click through the stupid robot thing to get one…
I’m at work with it open on my laptop and forgot about it. I happened to look over just as it updated and was able to get it. I tried the same thing last night and didn’t get it though (probably because it wasn’t VMP only).
There are so many more VMPs then what is available so this is honestly the best way to make it fair.
I agree I want good deals too
Because that would take away the random fun for everyone.

What is a Fukobukuro Bag?
Is it anything like a Bag Of Crap?

They should intermittently send out both real alerts and fake alerts.
There should be no consistent pattern, so users will never know whether or not the alert is lying.

@rockblossom What if there was no warning until after they had all sold out? That would be pretty mediocre.
random VMP should get a Fukobukuro for free every once in awhile or socks.
just because.
@username I got my last one free, no clue if VMP had anything to do with it.
@username don’t care for socks, but I will take free stickers lol
I suggested similar, or at least the same reward rationale, and was shouted down by the meh masses as being the worst ever
@brandon THE WORST!
The moral of the story is don’t wear white after Labor Day while sitting in a fukobukuro bag

You want a warning? How about, “Lower your expectations.” It’s a fukobukuro from meh.
I’m all for the emails as long as it isn’t for a useless to me Martian watch.

I’ve only managed to get one
They effectively do this now. I like the current system. Thanks, Mediocre.

Vmp hour is now, hopefully you can get a fuko/irk bag this time!
I hope it stays random. It’s fair.

I would also love this, I have only gotten 1 bag in like ever. I feel so sad when they’re all gone.
