Where do you play games?

The new round of game consoles are out, and I'm really not excited by any of them.

I'm most disappointed that there's not just a HD version of the Wii, maybe with a slightly more Kinect-ish control methods. I think Nintendo could still do that now and sell a ton.

But are game consoles just doomed now, except possibly as media centers? Where do you play games?

@dave, Heh. Better late than never. With a new baby, I still have some 360 games I bought cheap and haven't had a chance to play yet, so I'm in no hurry to get the latest and greatest.

@medz, Exactly (and I'm in the same boat, new-kid-wise). If you can just trick yourself into not caring that there's something even fancier, the games from a few years ago are plenty cool. In fact, now that they basically don't make Rock Band any more, I'm wondering if I need to stock up on my plastic rock equipment while it's still available.

@dave These days I find myself gaming on my phone simply because I have the most access to it. For consoles, I've always been an Xbox guy. I actually won a free Xbox One through the Doritos and Mtn Dew promotion last year! Personally, I love the direction Microsoft went with this console.
