Why will my packages sit in Phoenix for 6 days before delivery?
0Shipped 4/07/17. Arrived in Phoenix 4/08/17 from CARROLLTON, TX US (814 mile trip). They could have just dropped them off at the Tucson FEDEX hub on their way North to Phoenix (118 miles north). Now I have to wait nearly a week (due 4/14/17) for my packages to make their 2 hour trip back south to Tucson!!!

@basketballJones While that certainly is frustrating, that is an issue with Fedex and not something the Mediocre can control. I would suggest getting in touch with Fedex’s customer service.
I will say, that from my limited understanding, Smartpost and the like is able to be offered cheaply because they load the trucks fully and go on dedicated routes, which often seems senseless (going past one’s location only to have to be driven back), but is cheaper for them in the long run. People looking for inexpensive products on deal sites typically would prefer to wait a little longer for something if it means the shipping is cheaper.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
When I lived in Chicago, I once had a package start in Tenn., bop over to Texas, then up to Missouri, land in Illinois where it passed through Chicago on it’s way up to Wisconsin, swing over to Ohio and then, finally, back to Chicago again.
All I can say is… having the ability to track your packages online is a boon and a curse.
It was just gonna stay 3 days, but it didn’t make it to all the places it wanted to see, so it extended the stay 3 more days.
Scenic route route for $5. Direct route for $50. On meh there is no multiple choice.
