Would you move if you had the chance?
2Gallup asked people around the country if they would move from their states given the opportunity, and according to the poll, "Half of people living in Illinois and Connecticut want to get the hell out."
Not surprising - Texans seem to be pretty happy where they are!
Do any states surprise you? Would you move if you had the chance?

No surprise about Washington and Oregon. They both seem like really nice states. I am in California and have no desire to move. I am surprised about Arizona, I always thought people liked it there.
California was surprising to me! I thought it would be the same as Texas.
I had the desire to move from there because I had a desire to not pay $1200/month for a small one bedroom apartment.
I lived in Arizona briefly. It's not...what most people tend to think it is.
What's going on in Montana!? I'm pretty surprised the desire to move isn't higher. I also think it's interesting that New York is so high, but I'd assume that's related to cost of living. On the other hand, I'm not shocked that Hawaiians don't have any plans to leave. I'm also not surprised about Texas considering how much Texans love Texas.
Considering I just moved from California to Texas less than a year ago and I've really loved it so far, no desire to move anywhere else from me.
Wait til mid-july :)
or mid-August :)
Montana is the Texas of the north... of course they are the same color.
I got here last year in mid-July! I experienced the 105 degree heat and (mostly) survived. I do miss it being 70 degrees year round.
NY here - taxes and over-reaching government is what most people mention on their way out.
Also, I came from CA, and it's similar - taxes/cost of living/etc. - also, a ton of people go to CA and then get homesick.
Maybe I just haven't clicked deeply enough in the places I've seen this story linked, but I sure do wish I knew specifically how the question was phrased.
@matthew - Apparently a pretty bland question.
"Regardless of whether you will move, if you had the opportunity, would you like to move to another state, or would you rather remain in your current state?"

I'm pretty amazed that West Virginia is below average.
Take me home, country roads, to the place I belong
Especially since most of their homes are already on wheels (boom)

Man, you Texans really like home, eh?
I wonder what it'd look like if you isolated for people who had lived in a state all their lives vs people who had moved there. i.e., are people in NY more likely to want to move because they are the type of people who move from state to state. My guess is that most of those (few) people in Montana were born there.
Interesting to see my prior state New Hampshire coming up tan. Did I screw up moving to Texas? Nah, although NH does have the best license plate slogan.
Sorry for the crappy quality [nsfw] language:
