What about for those who have had a double foot amputation? Shouldn't they get a friggin pair of gloves??? Oh wait, I guess they could just call them mittens with attached sleeves. OK whatever, carry on.
@JonT I know you all have recently become obsessed with the need to send emails to everyone, however don't you think that 3 identical ones with the same order information is taking it a bit too far. Please don't make it 4, please?
miffed-auspicious-cyclops, the best part about my order is I actually know a person with only one eye, and he is often time's miffed (epically at people who walks up to him on his left, that really miff's him off!)!!
@DaveD1420 Thanks for the "darn" pun. You've cracked the frozen surface of my face a little. I'll guess that most crontributors don't realize the relationship between darning and socks. I'll have to send you some nylon-blend darning thread, a darning needle, and an old-fashioned darning egg (made of wood, of course).
@MSticklefeather HA! Thanks. My mother made me darn a few socks back in the day. We were kinda poor, and there were a bunch of us, so buying new socks was just not something we did very often. I remember the wooden egg!
@Talidan Not a shrubbery. The Japanese Yew (Taxus cuspidata) tends to provide good throughput with an expectedly good level of reliability; its rigidity makes it ideal for setting up longer distance point to point connections. Taxus chinensis, or Chinese yew, will often work adequately but will start dropping packets and malfunctioning shortly after the gardening center return privileges run out, Taxus obscure, a hard to find variant, is useful for highly secure transmissions. And Taxus umbraculifera has the surprising ability to act as a shield against intrusive wifi signals from, say, those ubiquitous Comcast 'xfinitywifi' public hot spots. And wool (and some synthetics) rules, year round. Cotton kills!
@harrison There are some synthetics that will work, otherwise as Talidan noted, just stay somewhere cushy where your feet or self won't get wet and sweaty when its cold outside and little chance of drying off or warming up..
This really did happen to me once. I went to a suit store and bought a few suits. Suddenly, as I was about to leave with my purchase some store guy shows up and politely offers me a complimentary free gift. And behold! There it was! A gleaming pair of brand new black socks! It was Meh!
Hey everyone, Bryan from Foot Cardigan here. Even though we made these socks for our friends at Mediocre, if you hate them, it's definitely their fault.
But really, it was a pleasure making these ordinary socks, because we usually only make awesome ones. If you'd like to increase the amount of amazing in your sock drawer, we'd love to help you with that. Just enter 'MEDIOCRE' at checkout, and we'll give you 10% off any sock subscription.
If you have any questions, keep them to yourself. Or ask me.
The best part about all of this is the fact that people are annoyed. So annoyed, in fact, that they are airing their annoyances here for everyone to read. Which leads to the further annoyance of everyone. This pleases me. It shouldn't but it does.
If only this "e-mail" of which you speak had some sort of "filtering" available, whereby one could "filter" messages with certain content. Then no one would have to complain about all the notifications any longer. Forsooth!
After cooling their heels (see what I did there?) for almost 3 days after arriving at Dallas FedEx they finally started moving tonight! Couple more days until I can warm my toes during this Florida cold snap.
I got my Mid-Performance Socks today(from a neighbor who the USPS accidentally delivered them to) and read the tag that says to not give them individual names, well I'm now consumed with thinking of names for them. I might post back when I think of names for them. Although I am slightly concerned they are only 50% good but I'm going to look at it as if the glass is half full of water and an unknown amount full of something else(maybe or maybe not that something else is looking back at you.. Whose to say really?). Anyways thanks Meh, there "ok"!
So, the socks "purchase" was February 18th, a week before the free two months of VMP expired? Hmm. I was going to cancel my VMP (and probably renew when I made my next purchase) but you've changed my mind. I want to let it renew. Not sure what you're doing but I like it and I'm sticking around. Pleasure doing business with you all.
The socks don't live down to the brand name. Maybe I feel that way because I only buy cheap white cotton ones? The color seems sophisticated rather than middling, the branding is thoughtfully placed so the socks may be worn without exposing it, and the proportion of natural to synthetic fiber is good. Beautiful even knit, too. Thank you! These are a treat and I appreciate your thoughtfulness.
I finally tried on my mediocre socks. Having named them Schlick and Schlock, I'm obviously attached. I have larger calves and averagely female sized feet. So the socks don't quite fit - perfectly mediocre.
Having sustained a heel bruise; I'm currently icing my average foot injur with a lunchbox grade ice pack, on so-so pillows, while wearing my ill fitting mediocre socks. This seems like the exact perfect use for these socks.
@MHBoston Mine have not shipped yet either . . . customer service says to not give up hope, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm starting to feel a little left out - and although I know that delays and mistakes happen, it is inevitable that it will leave a very poor impression on me to be omitted. I hope that if they can't fulfill the remaining ~250 orders that they'll offer something else to make up for leaving our feet out in the cold all winter.
I still havent gotten mine. I used to be able to get the tracking info from https://mediocre.com/ Its not showing up anymore. Meh CSR says to ask the PO where it is. PO says to ask Meh to ship it again. Either way, I still dont have my socks and I no longer have the tracking.
For those who are still waiting: the socks are well worth the delay. I gave mine to a friend, since they're guy socks and they don't fit this girl, and he says they're very superior indeed. He asked me where to get more, in different colors, and I referred him to the most informative sock biography which was included.
@MHBoston Always cool to have a package on the way! But don't get too excited, these socks sort of suck. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing these things, lol. Maybe I need to wash and shrink them a bit, they seem huge and my foot isn't small.
Warning... Do Not Open This Package In Front of Neighbors... or acquaintances... or prospective clients... or really anyone. Enjoy the moment when your greeted with looks of skepticism when you try to explain the contents.
